The guruji of Swami Sacchidanand ji maharaj (www.dharkundiashram.org) was Swami Paramananda who lived in Ansuyya Ashram at Chitrakoot, UP. He lived as a sanyasi in the forest to do his japa & tapas. And finally came into conclusion that the power evoked by japa & tapa should be used for the upliftment of mankind. He found that the power of holistic medicine is more powerful than the external medicine because it not on;y works on this physical body but it also works on energy level, psychic level, Mind and will power level which in turn leads to a balance at all levels.He brought up his students (shishyas) with the teachings of true knowledge and these students became the the Gurus of modern times. He believes in research which should be in two ways-
- External research to benefit the external physical and technological world.
- Internal research of sadhana and meditation for internal development, growth and upliftment.
